February 25th Update

I’m currently obsessed with a new band called Mumford and Sons.  Four British guys who play the acoustic guitar, upright bass, banjo and snare drum, they are an interesting combination of bluegrass and rock.   They have one song in particular that I love, called “Awake My Soul.”  The reason I love that song so much is because it is a passionate calling to live life with intentionality; to not let our soul drift through this life half asleep.  It’s a calling that echoes the same message Jesus gives us over and over again in the New Testament. 

 

The reason I mention all of this is because this weekend at Heartland we launch a new series that I can all but guarantee will “awake your soul.”  It’s called How To Be Rich, and is taught by Andy Stanley, from North Point Community Church in Atlanta, Georgia.  So much more than a series on our finances, these four teachings will absolutely change your perspective and outlook on life.  You are getting this blog post because you are either a member at Heartland, or because you’ve asked to stay up to date with important information, and I’m asking you, as the core of our young church, to do everything you can to be at all four weeks of this series.  I say it a lot, but you will NOT want to miss a week!
