Many of us lived through the 70's...80's...90's...and even the scare of Y2K. We're launching a new series this weekend that we are simply calling Decades. We'll take a look back at the journey we've been on as a nation and as individuals. What has God been saying? What does He want to say to us today?
With history as a backdrop and the Bible as our textbook, we'll be stretched, challenged and grown during the next four weeks. And as you might guess, it's gonna be a lot of fun! So put on your bell-bottoms, grow some sideburns and bring a friend this Sunday for the 70's!
Come to Heartland for Decades: September 6th 70's September 13th 80's September 20th 90's September 27th Y2Khaos
Worship Experience: Sunday's at 9:00am and 10:45am

On Vision weekend I shared a desire to increase communication with those in the church who wanted to stay up to date on all that God is doing in and through us. As part of that desire, I will be frequently posting updates to this website; many times going into more detail than we have time for in a Sunday morning announcement. Sign up if you would like to receive an automatic email that lets you know when I’ve posted an update. sign up here. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions and comments.

Leadership Structure
Jesus Christ is the head of Heartland Community Church, and as a community our desire is to honor and reflect Jesus Christ in all we do and how we do it.
There are four groups of people who lead the ministries of Heartland in Rockford and Sun Prairie: the Elders, the Board of Directors, the Directional/Leadership Team, and the staff. The goal of each of these groups of leaders is to help you discover what you were made for by providing the tools you need to unlock GodÕs plan for your life.
At Heartland: Rockford and Sun Prairie, no one person holds the traditional role of senior pastor. Instead, several individuals use their individual gifts and strengths to lead the church.
Mark Bankord is Heartland's Directional Leader and co-founder of the church. Mark is a visionary leader, and provides directional leadership to the Heartland Staff and the church body. Mark leads the Directional/Leadership Team, chairs the Board of Directors and meets with the elders.
Jon McNary is Heartland: Sun Prairie's Lead Pastor. He leads the weekend and special worship experiences, brings day-to-day leadership to the staff and volunteers, and is part of the Directional/Leadership Team.
Jim Sheldon is Heartland: Sun Prairie's Director of Adult Ministries. He oversees ministries such as Men's Fraternity, Becoming, Marriage Matters, Financial Peace University, and the First Impressions team. He is part of the Directional/Leadership Team.
Heartland: Sun Prairie's local leadership team includes Jon McNary, Jim Sheldon, Nicole Moll (Children's Ministries) and Dan Wolf (Student Ministries).
Mike Breaux is Heartland's weekend teaching pastor. His primary role is to provide transformational teaching every weekend. Mike leads a team of other gifted teachers that teach periodically on the weekend or in other ministries of Heartland. Mike is part of the Directional/Leadership Team.
